German Skillet Dinner

1 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, chopped
2/3 cup white rice (or brown for more nutrition)
1 can saurkraut
1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper
1 can tomato sauce

Melt the butter in the bottom of a heavy skillet.
Add the chopped onion and saute for a minute or two.
Sprinkle the raw rice over the butter.
Pour the entire can of saurkraut, liquid and all over the rice.
Crumble the ground meat on top of the cabbage.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Pour the can of tomato sauce over all.
Cover and cook at a low simmer for 15 minutes.
Mix and serve.
This is a recipe that tastes even better the second day!
