Mac & Cheese with veggies

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 tbsp. salt
2 cups milk
1 package medium size shells
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
A small bunch of broccoli heads, broken into small pieces
Optional: Spinach, grape tomatoes.

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and salt until not lumpy. Cook and gradually add milk until it thickens. Cook pasta as directed. Mix flour roux in a casserole dish with the pasta, broccoli and most of the cheese. Sprinkle rest of cheese on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes uncovered at 350 degrees.
